Blackout Poetry: First Attempt

When I first ever heard of blackout poetry years ago, the thought of purposely blacking out portions of book pages just to make poetry blew my mind. “Ruining” a book intentionally to create something new was just heresy in my bookworm brain, and I couldn’t bring myself to do it. But now that digital blackout poetry is a fairly popular way to create it, I decided to give it a try by utilizing this page from William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream and using good ol’ MS Paint (I’ve included the original “blank” image in case anyone wanted to try for themselves):
